Practical Applications for Community Engagement & Communication
Law enforcement agencies must navigate different budgets, staffing levels, and resources while continuing to meet the needs of their communities. This introductory course explores how artificial intelligence can help law enforcement personnel work more efficiently and save time on everyday communication and community outreach tasks.
Participants will learn what AI is, what it can and cannot do, and how to use commonly available AI tools to develop social media content, create public education materials, draft communications, and support community engagement. The course will also cover responsible AI use, including accuracy, privacy, security, and the importance of human review.
This course focuses on communication, community outreach, and efficiency—not investigative applications of AI.
